What to Wear: Miami 5-Day Gals Vacation

Miami is home to South Beach, one of the most densely populated sea-side cities in the East Coast. It is known for its humid climate and long stretches of white sand beaches, with Latin-inspired architecture, food and clothing. Miami offers visitors a variety of adventures ranging from suntanning on the beach, handling alligators in the Everglades and to the beach to clubbing at night. Therefore, it is important to pack appropriately for a trip to Miami.

I get to spend 5 days in Miami with one of my best friends! Usually when we book a vacation, I immediately throw my favorite pieces into a suitcase and gradually fill it up as the vacation draws nearer. This time I’m going to plan out my outfits so that each day is filled with fashion perfection.

Reasons why I LOVE Miami

  1. The beach is amazing. Clear blue ocean and the breeze blowing over your wet sun-kissed skin is the best sensation ever. I never understood why Spring Break was such a big deal in Miami until I went for Ultra Fest 2010.
  2. The food scene is incredible. You’ll find lots of Latin American food and fresh sushi.
  3. Colorful scenery – The streets, buildings, cars and beaches are colorful. It’s appropriate that your attire blends in with the surroundings.

What to Wear to Miami

Now to my favorite part of planning trips, is deciding what to wear! My favorite season in Miami is Spring time. The sun is out and there’s a cool breeze wherever you go. I checked and coordinated my outfits with the warm sunny weather.

Day 1

This outfit is great for a dinner out in Miami. It’s casual yet classy at the same time. We will be getting into the city in the late evening so I want to be comfortable after a full day of travel.

day out miami outfit

  1. McGuire Sorbonne Linen Top in white ($225) – I decided on this top because it’s breathable and looks stinking adorable with distressed jeans. It has a hefty price tag but for this girl’s trip it is totally worth it. Similar tanks here.
  2. Lovers + Friends Ezra Slim Boyfriend Jean in Angelus ($118) – This brand runs small. I had to size up to a size 29 and regularly wear a 27. Similar pair sold here and here.
  3. Banana Republic Half Moon Crossbody in Green ($140) – find the bag for cheaper here.

Day 2

Day two of Miami takes us to South Beach! We’ll wake up and find a cool breakfast spot. Then it’s off on a boat tour. Afterwards we’ll take a hop on hop off bus and cruise around South Beach! Afterwards we’ll catch the sunset on the beach and then head to a Savor Brickell to see what food and beverages the Brickell neighborhood has to offer.

Day 2 miami outfit

  1. Pam & Gela Off Shoulder Dress in Grey ($99) – Sexy slimming dress that can be easily worn up or down. I love how slimming it is on the body. Definitely a piece that I will be wearing repeatedly.
  2. Circus by Sam Edelman Smiley Face Crossbody ($25) – I’m matching my grey dress with this fun 90’s inspired smiley face bag. I love my retro ensemble!
  3. Free People Just like Honey Dress in Ivory ($128) – Love the tiny slits at the shoulders. The bare back gives it a loaded touch of sexy.
  4. Beach Bunny Siren Song Sequin Bikini ($260) – First day on Miami beach! It’s time to sparkle!
  5. Free People Mirror Mirror Sunglasses ($20) – comes in three different colors! I am in LOVE with these!!!
  6. Banana Republic Half Moon Crossbody in Green ($140) – find the bag for cheaper here.

Day 3

Today we go on an Everglades tour where we’ll get to explore the swamp and all it’s critters. I wanted to keep it casual in case I needed to run from wild animals. Afterwards we’re gonna take the hop-on hop-off bus to explore Wynwood and Little Havana.

Day 4

Today I unleash my inner boho festival chic. I may be missed the Coachella boat, but doesn’t mean I can’t find my own music laden adventure on the opposite coast. We’re also heading to the nightclub later. Time to get fancy! I might even wear heels!
