Updated: 1/21/2022 | Best Workout Underwear
Finding the best panty to wear under leggings can be frustrating. I’ve tried about everything under the sun and these brands and styles have been my top picks to wear underneath my leggings. The things I look for in the perfect panty is comfortability (no abrasive fabrics or rolling), slimming silhouette and a variety of colors to match all my leggings. I’ve taken the effort of online shopping and searching out for you.
Below are our top picks for women’s underwear that you can work out in.
Best Workout Underwear For Women
#1 Knix Seamless Thong
Knix is by far my most FAVORITE activewear thong. It is seamless (using heat-sealed seams), practically indestructible and SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT.
I ordered a size medium and it fit me comfortably (I am a size 6 in lululemon). The thong comes in a recyclable tube with detailed care instructions. I machine washed my thong on gentle and hung dry.
They also have leakproof underwear that can hold up to two tampons worth of liquid. This may be the ultimate workout AND travel panty. Everyone needs to get on the Knix train stat.
Each panty costs $20-$25 but is worth it.

#2 Boody

We are OBSESSED with Boody! Their fabric is made from organic bamboo and is super sustainable and soft.
We recommend going with your true size in Boody apparel and undergarments. Their fabric has a lot of stretch and will move with you.

#3 Smartwool
Smartwool doesn’t only make socks, they also make wool underwear and bralettes! They’re seamless (for a body-hugging and chafe-free fit) and come in a variety of colors and silhouettes (thong, bikini and boy shorts).
Smartwool also has a pro discount for fitness instructors and workers in the outdoor industry. Sign up here!
#4 lululemon
OMG! I snagged my first pair of lululemon underwear a warehouse sale and wear them ALL THE TIME.
Compared to the aforementioned brands, I am very impressed by how well my lululemon undies have held up. They are very lightweight, making them great for backpacking and light traveling.
The Namastay Put undies are an older lululemon design. The new design is called the Mula Bandhawear, which I feel and fit the same as the previous iteration but comes in more colors and silhouettes.
They’re easy to clean, very lightweight and come in a variety of fun colors to match your leggings. Thongs are $16 and hipsters are $18. They’re not cheap, however, they are a great investment!
#5 Calvin Klein Invisibles Panties

Calvin Klein makes super comfortable panties. Their Invisibles line offers bras and panties in a seamless design that lays flat across the body. They also come in muted neutral colors which are great for concealing beneath tights and leggings. Buy a pack of 3 for $33 from various retailers.
Where to Buy:
#6 Zobha Boyshort and Thong Panties
Zobha undies are awesome! They offer seamless underwear that comes in boyshort and thong silhouettes. They offer neutral colors and focus on excellent quality.
They won’t roll over and like the Victoria’s Secret Sport No Show panties. I would definitely size up! The panties are sold in sets of 2 for $32 online.
#7 GoLite Underwear
GoLite makes sustainable underwear! Each pair is made from used water bottles diverted from landfills.
They offer bikini ($22), Boyshort ($28) and Thong ($22) styles.
Not only are they comfy, but they’re also super lightweight and pack really well. I wore them throughout my trip to South Carolina in 98-degree heat and didn’t suffer from crotch sweat!
#8 Patagonia
Patagonia makes seamless underwear that is comfy and easy to care for. Their underwear comes with a delicate floral pattern. Choose from the thong, bikini or hip rise bikini styles.
#9 WAMA
WAMA makes all natural hemp underwear that is super comfortable and good for the environment. We love their bralettes and thong panties for yoga.
#10 Hanky Panky Signature Lace Low-Rise Thong

I love Hanky Panky’s low-rise lace thong underwear. The lace is so soft and feels like you’re wearing nothing. It’s much softer than Victoria Secret’s lace thong (a Hanky Panky dupe) and is totally worth the money.
They’re expensive but worth it if sexy lace thongs are your thing. They come in an assortment of fun bright colors and patterns. Hanky Panky ranges from $18-$30 a pair.
